TSGDoku - Deniz Solmaz - Simply Different
Part 6: The alumni
Next up are Sebastian Müller and Christiane Meyer-Spillmann.
Sebastian Müller is a Bundesliga professional with Arminia Bielefeld and is currently on loan at second-division club VFL Osnabrück.
Christiane Meyer-Spillmann is a teacher at Holderbergschule Eibelshausen and had dealings with Deniz as a student.
Basti: "I think Deniz is a good coach, which I unfortunately didn't have for so long. i hardly know a person who burns for something as crazy as he does. When I see on Instagram how he plows around all day, you know that he is either extremely burning for it or crazy. But Deniz manages to be both. I like how open he is and that he lets everyone be who they want to be, but is still tough on the court and develops you. What I don't like is when I call him the day after my first game in the starting eleven, his sh*** cell phone ends the call every two minutes."
Ms. Meyer-Spillmann: "So I got to know Deniz in substitute lessons at HBS in the 10th year of secondary school. It quickly became clear that he was quite popular in the class and represented his position. Deniz liked to laugh, maybe laugh at you (laughs). His passion for soccer was also common knowledge.
It is good that he went his way. It is a pity that Deniz seemed quite serious and humorless. That was different. Sporting ambition is good, but sometimes easier with a smile. His "aversion" to school was noticeable then and is noticeable now. Nevertheless, in my opinion, there must be a school education of a general kind, which regards the pupil as a human being and still promotes, or even demands, his individuality.
Deniz is a role model for the children and young people of TSG Wieseck."
